Planning a destination wedding?

The BVI’s residency period is three business days, and couples must apply for their license in person at the Registrar-General’s Office in Road Town, Tortola. Applications are processed in three business days. Couples must have their passports, proof of marital status, $110in BVI postage stamps for a special license for those residing in the BVI for three days or $50 in BVI postage stamps for those residing in the BVI for 15 days or more.

Couples should bring two witnesses to the Registrar-General’s Office for the signing of the license application. Two witnesses must also be present at the marriage ceremony. At the Registrar-General’s Office, couples must schedule an appointment for the date and time of the marriage. The current fees are $35 for marriages in the Registrar-General’s Office and $100 for all other marriages.
