Experience the rhythms of spice.

Reasons to Recommend

The strong sense of culture and famous hospitality make visitors to the Spice Island immediately feel at home. Marriage in Grenada is a straight forward process with basic paperwork. As one of the last true tropical island paradises, a Grenada wedding or dream vacation can take place amidst lush tropical rainforest or at a beautiful beach resort.

Setting the Scene

A mountainous and volcanic landscape gives Grenada one of the loveliest environments in the Caribbean, with crater lakes, rainforests and coastal mangrove plantations giving way to white sand beaches, and brilliant blue waters filled with coral reefs.

Experience refined tradition and regal elegance at Belmont Estates where you can enjoy tours of local organic farms and gardens, a heritage museum and cocoa processing facilities and at Morne Fendue Plantation House, a Victorian House constructed in the late 18th century. Grenada’s well-established waterfalls include Concord Falls, Marquis Falls and Royal Mt. Carmel Falls, the island’s highest waterfall. There are many tropical gardens to explore including Grenada Botanical Gardens and Bay Gardens, home to over 3000 species of plants providing a lifetime’s introduction to the flora of Grenada. Anse beach is a local favourite, where couples can relax and enjoy the site of a picturesque sunset.

Couples can bask under the warm sun as they escape from reality on a private catamaran or sailboat. Nuptials can take place on the beach, at a beautiful resort or at sea. Honeymooners can discover the ‘Spice of Life’ at small luxury hotels, pampering spas and fine dining locations. Enjoy discreet hospitality at an independently owned boutique hotel or an elegant hide-away villa. With year round cultural activities, unique soft adventures and late night island entertainment, Grenada is an ideal getaway for the highly sophisticated.

Planning a destination wedding?

Couples must be on-island for three days before applying for a license, in person, at the office of the prime Minister. The stamp duty and license fees are about $20 - $30USD. Licenses are generally ready within two working days (slightly longer if either partner is divorced). Couples must have valid passports, birth certificates, and a sworn affidavit attesting that it is a first marriage. Additional paperwork is required if it is not a first marriage (death or divorce certificate).

When planning a wedding in Grenada, couples should make sure to allocate enough time on the island, taking into consideration both the residency requirement of three working days and the usually two working days for licenses to be prepared.
